I have already written an article about the superiority of Ethanol in blending a perfume. Â I stilll feel it is the answer to blending the ingredients and preserving the perfume.
Recently I blended a simple sandalwood perfume as a Base-Note oil. Â I thus used Jojoba Oil as the carrier, rather than Ethanol. Â My Base-Note blends are those placed on the skin prior to adding another perfume. Â It is fun to blend perfumes and some would like more oil on the areas they place their Ethanol blended perfume. Â This can actually make one's scent last longer on the skin.
Long story short, I enjoyed the Jojoba based Base-Note as a simple Sandalwood perfume. Â I enjoyed the oil base and understand better why others do as well. Â Sooo, with this in mind, I am opening my store to a choice of Jojoba Oil carrier or Ethanol dilution. Â Pros & cons... Â Ethanol perfume will remain fresh for years because it preserves the blend. Â So I am making smaller bottles of Jojoba Oil Based for those who prefer their perfume in Jojoba oil. Â I use Jojoba Oil since it is a waxy oil liken to skin sebum and the best choice for a perfume blend. Â It costs more and it so worth it!!!
I have been experimenting with blending with Jojoba Oil and find that 30% dilution offers the robust  and long lasting scent I strive for in my MRF blends.Â
Having fun exploring.. Â Donna with MRFÂ
