Carrier Oil or Ethanol to dilute perfume oils?
I have tried both various carrier oils and ethanol for my blends. I found I required much more essential oils in an oil carrier to present the rich scent of my perfume blends. I like a perfume that is not loud, but is very present and long lasting. I felt that using carrier oil in my blends limited the capacity for my blends to be so very present and bright. I was also quite offended when oils began to become rancid around the neck of the bottle. Applying rancid oils to one's skin is not particularly healthy. After experimenting with both methods of blending my oils, I turned away from oil carriers and embraced tethanol to dilute my beautifl blends.
I choose ethanol alcohol to dilute my precious oils. Let me tell you why.
1. Ethanol blends the oils and dilutes the textures of the oils to ensure a completed dilution.
2. Ethanol preserves the blend of oils. There is no worry of oils oxidizing and becoming rancid. The oils remain clean and fresh so very much longer than in an oil dilution.
3. Ethanol dispurses the precious oils on your skin and evaporates very quickly. It leaves the preciouis oils on one's skin so the scent of the blend is brighter and very present.
4. Ethanol is not harmful to the skin. I have worn my perfumes for years and have not had any concerns about dryness where I apply my perfume - wrist, behind my ears, inside my elbows, behind my knees and anywhere else I wish to be fragrant.
No matter what dilution you choose, ensure that you consider carefully using a synthetic perfume. Natural oils are safer and frankly more complex and beautiful having been made by the best alchemist we know......Mother Nature.
