Carrier Oil or Ethanol to dilute perfume oils?
I have tried both various carrier oils and ethanol for my blends. Â I found I required much more essential oils in an oil carrier to present the rich scent of my perfume blends. Â I like a perfume that is not loud, but is very present and long lasting. Â I felt that using carrier oil in my blends limited the capacity for my blends to be so very present and bright. Â I was also quite offended when oils began to become rancid around the neck of the bottle. Â Applying rancid oils to one's skin is not particularly healthy. Â After experimenting with both methods of blending my oils, I turned away from oil carriers and embraced tethanol to dilute my beautifl blends.
I choose ethanol alcohol to dilute my precious oils. Â Let me tell you why. Â
1. Â Ethanol blends the oils and dilutes the textures of the oils to ensure a completed dilution. Â
2. Â Ethanol preserves the blend of oils. Â There is no worry of oils oxidizing and becoming rancid. The oils remain clean and fresh so very much longer than in an oil dilution.
3. Â Ethanol dispurses the precious oils on your skin and evaporates very quickly. Â It leaves the preciouis oils on one's skin so the scent of the blend is brighter and very present. Â
4. Â Ethanol is not harmful to the skin. Â I have worn my perfumes for years and have not had any concerns about dryness where I apply my perfume - wrist, behind my ears, inside my elbows, behind my knees and anywhere else I wish to be fragrant.
No matter what dilution you choose, ensure that you consider carefully using a synthetic perfume. Â Natural oils are safer and frankly more complex and beautiful having been made by the best alchemist we know......Mother Nature.
